This an message I have sent to the students via Blackboard regarding Wednesday schedule. I was told it was somewhat amusing so I figured I’ll share it here.

Normal Class Schedule on Wednesday before Thanksgiving

Posted on: Monday, November 21, 2011

We will have a regular class meeting this week. The university treats *Wednesday before Thanksgiving* as a regular day, and so must I. While I understand that this may be inconvenient to those of you who have to travel home for the holidays, I am bound to follow the rules set forth by the MSU administration, and refer to the judgment of the greater and lesser Deans that preside over it.

I will not be cancelling class (and for that I apologize) because frivolous cancellations are frowned upon by the supervisory entities that graciously allow me to teach this course. So unless I succumb to an unfortunate bout of spontaneous combustion, or get attacked by an evil clan of ninjas with a grudge against my ancestors, I will be in the lab at 8:15 teaching the class as usual. If you can’t make it, I will assume you are with us in spirit, but still mark you absent.

See you on Wednesday.

PS: The 2:30 campus closing is an unfounded rumor cum wishful thinking spearheaded by willy holiday slacktivists. Pay it no heed.
